In 1935, the Air Ministery of Royal Air Force under PM Chaomberlain commisioned the Irving Manufacturig Company of Letchwork England to create a top leather Flying Jacket to protect the R.A.F on their bombing missions over Berlin,Hanover,Bremen during WWII.It would have to be made of sheepskin and water resistant. Coined the Irwin Jacket, it was said that even General Galland of the Luftwaffe obtained one at the age of 30 and keep it to the end of his life. Made in England. With all original details, include leather under collar which provides wind protection and zippered sleeves for easy donning of gloves, leather welting on the seams reduces moisture penetration and increases durability.
